A Llandudno Short Story, and a very promising debut here! Not strictly speaking erotic, more crime, but this story does deal with the darker side of human nature and sexual need/desire/abuse.
‘Death Visits the Orme’, is the first in a planned series of short stories set in the popular resort of Llandudno, North Wales.
But in Ginny Bitters’ haunting debut, Llandudno is a dark place, full of foreboding – a Llandudno ‘…that visitors seldom see, and of which residents are only dimly aware…’ A place where ‘knots of girls as skinny as skeletons, pale as ghosts haunt shadowy recesses dressed only in rags and tatters.’
The narrator of the tale is a mysterious visitor to the town; one who has a certain interest in one of these girls – Alice Louise Banks..( ‘…. tomorrow would have been her twentieth birthday…’) He follows her closely as she is taken up onto the Great Orme in the dead of night…
A tale which is poignant and harrowing by turns; exploring the darker side of human nature.
A thought provoking story that will linger long in the memory.
Ginny Bitters was born in Llandudno, and has lived there all her life. She runs a small B&B in the town, and writes in her spare time.
